PhD Dissertations
Unipub prints dissertations for the majority of Faculties at the University of Oslo, the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, the Norwegian School of Veterinary Medicine, the Norwegian Lutheran School of Theology and the Norwegian Academy of Music.
Several of the dissertations we publish are the starting point for book publications with Unipub. If you think your dissertation would be suitable for publication, please contact the Editing Section at Unipub for an evaluation at post@unipub.no
First time orders
When your dissertation is completed:
Contact Unipub to make a date for the delivery of your dissertation. You are welcome to come to our offices and deliver the manuscript yourself.
Delivery time of the printed dissertation is 6-8 work days after we have received the manuscript. Your Faculty is responsible for informing Unipub how far in advance of your defense they want the copies of your dissertation.
When you deliver your dissertation:
When you deliver your dissertation to Unipub you must have completed the requisition form, including the necessary signatures from your Institute. Please check that the delivery address and invoice information are complete and accurate. Requisition forms can be obtained from your Institute.
We strongly recommend that you thoroughly review the electronic version of your dissertation, or alternatively the paper version, and check that everything is as you want it. You cannot make corrections to the manuscript after it has been delivered to us.
Test print
If you wish, you can order a test print of the dissertation before the full order is sent to print. With a test print you can check that all the pages of the dissertation are present and in the proper order, and that the quality of the pictures and of the dissertation in general is to your satisfaction. This is not an opportunity to make major changes to the body of the dissertation; it is only to ensure the printing quality of the manuscript.
Unipub’s recommendation regarding whether or not a test print is necessary depends on the condition and content of the delivered manuscript. As a rule, test prints are recommended whenever pictures (color or black and white) are included in the manuscript, when the manuscript is delivered in part as a digital file and in part on paper, or if we see that the quality of the digital file might lead to errors at printing. Corrections made to the manuscript after the test print has been reviewed will be invoiced and a new test print will be ordered.
Printing Orders
At any time you can order more copies of a dissertation. Most of the Faculties at the University of Oslo have opted for Unipub to store their dissertation files for 10 years.
To place an order, send us an e-mail detailing the number of copies, where the copies are to be delivered and where to send the invoice. Delivery time is about 9 work days.
